Teniendo en cuenta el carácter plural que posee el Arte, el objetivo de esta propuesta es dejar en evidencia las prácticas que giran en torno a Él entre el común de la sociedad, La “pintura” por su carácter icónico en el Arte (a nuestra consideración) es una de las vías más efectivas para recalcar estas manifestaciones debido al gran número de personas que la ejercen, identificar y hacer convivir en una sola muestra los diferentes conceptos para así reivindicar el carácter multicultural; éste es el núcleo de la propuesta.
Universalidad y multiculturalismo, son dos términos ideológicos que abarcan la política, la religión, “las artes”, la filosofía... a nivel mundial. La universalidad es el resultado de dos contenidos: lo típico que soporta de forma fantástica en esta noción, y su complementario que es un contenido particular que funciona como un sustituto, pero este contenido particular es resultado de una batalla política por la hegemonía ideológica.
“El multiculturalismo es un racismo que vacía su posición de todo contenido positivo (el multiculturalismo no es directamente racista, no opone al Otro los valores particulares de su propia cultura), pero igualmente mantiene esta posición como un privilegiado punto vacío de universalidad, desde el cual uno puede apreciar (y despreciar) adecuadamente las otras culturas particulares: el respeto multiculturalista por la especificidad del Otro es precisamente la forma de reafirmar la propia superioridad”1 De este mismo modo el Arte puede ser excluyente, racista, desde la manera en la que se entiende hasta la identificación y utilización del mismo, esto genera catalogaciones como “artista”- “no artista” en donde se hace partícipe también la idea de "Arte” y “arte”. Si bien una hace parte de la otra para poder existir, y en tiempo lineal se podría decir que la artesanía evoluciono a las bellas artes y en la modernidad se denomino Arte, también cabe aclarar que las dos se diferencian (Arte-arte) por un nivel jerárquico en cuanto a estética y conceptualización, y en donde el hacedor posee este mismo orden (Artista-artesano).
Esta propuesta, está elaborada por el colectivo Alejandro Sánchez Suarez – Alexi Serguei Sosa Romero, sin embargo, llevarla a cabo, hubiese sido imposible sin la aprobación y posterior colaboración de pintores residentes en la localidad novena de Fontibon, con el fin de aproximar al espectador, a las diferentes practicas que se realizan en un sector del cual también somos parte para que a partir de nuestro entorno, podamos hacer más viable la forma de realizar una reflexión de lo multicultural en una parte de la población en Bogotá. El procedimiento curatorial no excluirá a ninguna persona que quiera ser partícipe del proyecto. Cada creador partícipe del proyecto, generará una reflexión en torno a las razones y fundamentos que lo han invitado a ser creador de imagen, y con ello debe justificar la producción de sus imágenes, en su desarrollo plástico. De esta manera pretendemos que el proyecto incurra en cuestionamientos basados en la legitimidad e ilegitimidad del arte, poniendo en evidencia nuestro claro interés por generar conciencia de los diferentes fenómenos plásticos que podrían ser lo suficientemente validos como para incluir en un ámbito artístico-cultural, y así potencializar su carácter contemporáneo, no desde la mirada estética ni conceptual de cada una de las pinturas por separado, si no por su lectura en conjunto, la cual denota un ejemplo claro de lo multicultural.

MULTICULTURALISM REFLECTION IN PAINTING. Award winning and arts scholarships awarded project . Gallery Santa Fe, Bogota City Hall. In collaboration with Alexi Serguei Sosa.
Taking into account the collective character of Art, the goal of this proposal is to showcase all the practices that surround art to the rest of society. Painting, given its iconic presence in the world of art (in our opinion), is one of the most effective ways in which this manifestations can be brought to life, due to the great number of people who practice it. To identify and bring together in one show the different concepts, and in that way claim its multicultural character; this is the core of the proposal.
Universality and multiculturalism are two ideological terms that include politics, religion, “the arts”, philosophy... on a global scale. Universality is the result of two contents: the typical that formidably bears this notion, and in its complementary , which is a particular type of content that works as a substitute, but this particular content is the result of a political battle for ideological hegemony.
“Multiculturalism is a form of racism which empties the position of all positive content (the multiculturalist is not an open racist, he doesn’t oppose the other’s particular values of his own culture), but nevertheless preserves this position as an empty and privileged essence of universality, from which the other specific cultures can be adequately appreciated: multiculturalism’s respect for the specificity of the other is the most efficient means of reaffirming his own superiority”1 In this same way, Art can be exclusive, racist, from the way in which it is understood to its identification and utilization. This generates classifications as “artist”- “not-artist” where the idea of “Art”- “art” is included. If one needs the other in order to exist, and in lineal time it could be said the handmade craft evolved into tje Fine Arts and in more modern times it was called Art, it is also worth noting that the two (Art-art) differentiate from one another on a hierarchical level that takes into account its aesthetics and conceptualization, and in which the maker boasts this same hierarchy (Artist-artisan).
This proposal has been created as a collaboration between Alejandro Sánchez Suarez – Alexi Serguei Sosa Romero, however, its creation would have been impossible without the approval and subsequent collaboration of resident painters in Fontibon, the 9th district of Bogota, with the purpose of bringing the public closer to the different practices that are carried out in a sector we are part of, so that having our environment as a starting point may facilitate discussions about multiculturalism among one part of Bogota’s population.
The curatorial process won’t exclude anyone who wants to participate in the project. Each creator that participates in the project will generate thoughts in regards to the reasons and fundamentals that have imvited them to be image creators, and with that, they must justify the creation of its images in their artistic development. It is in this manner that we hope the project will present questionings based in the ligitimacy or illegitimacy of art, making evident our clear interest to make others aware of the different phenomena that occur in the plastic arts which could be sufficiently valid as to be included in an artistic-cultural environment and potentiate with this their contemporary character, not judging the aesthetics or conceptualization of each separate painting, but by appreciating them together as a whole, which is a clear example of multiculturalism.
